What is Canaro?
Canaro is a plug-and-play monitoring platform. Plug in the hub, add wireless sensors as needed, and monitor everything from one modular dashboard. Works out-of-the-box, connecting to WiFi, cellular or satellite on Canaro Hub Pro.
What's the difference between Canaro Hub and Canaro Hub Pro?
Canaro Hub connects via WiFi and cellular. Canaro Hub Pro adds satellite connectivity, support for wired and long-range Add-Ons, a longer backup battery and more.
Do I need WiFi?
No. Canaro works on cellular networks without any WiFi. The Pro model also supports satellite for locations with no cell coverage at all.
What's the difference between a device plan and an account plan?
Your device plan determines the connectivity of your hub; whether that's WiFi with cellular backup, or satellite. Your account plan is an optional upgrade that extends capabilities for organizations and individuals with more advanced needs; things like more frequent data logging, support for more Add-Ons, and advanced features like API access.
What's included in the free account plan?
Every hub includes the Standard account plan at no cost: all core monitoring features, instant alerts via SMS and email, the real-time dashboard, historical data, and up to 3 Add-Ons per hub.
Can I monitor multiple properties?
Yes. The dashboard lets you monitor all of your devices across multiple properties in one place. Consumer account tiers include up to 5 hubs per account; there is no limit to the number of devices you can have on an Enterprise plan.
Do I need a SIM card or data plan?
No. Canaro devices have built-in SIMs and all connectivity — cellular, satellite, or WiFi — is included in your subscription plan. There is nothing extra to buy or configure, and third-party SIM cards are not supported.
Is there an API?
Yes. Canaro offers a RESTful API for custom integrations and automation. API access is available on select plans.
